Why does the Alternate Content Provider (ACP), send “http://” requests for Content Locations for Applications/ Packages to a SCCM 2012 DP only configured for “https://”?

I’ve created an Alternate Content Provider (ACP), to download content rather than using the default ConfigMgr 2012 downloader.

I’ve created and distributed Applications and Packages to my Distribution Points (DPs), which are only configured for HTTPS communication.

However, I’ve noticed that whenever the ACP requests the Content Locations for an Application or Package, Content Transfer Manager is actually passing an http:// URL for the DP hosting the content to the ACP rather than a https://
