“Child process “”\\\D$\SMS\bin\x64\rolesetup.exe” /install /siteserver: SMSMP 0″ took too long to execute, and the process (PID = 1275) was orphaned.”
I’ve noticed that any of my Management Points that are installed on machines also running the ConfigMgr Client seems to be trying to upgrade repeatedly.
If I look in Sitecomp.log I see:
Starting service SMS_SERVER_BOOTSTRAP_SITESERVER with command-line arguments “AME C:\SMS /install \\<FQDN_MANAGEMENT_POINT>\C$\SMS\bin\x64\rolesetup.exe SMSMP”
and then 30 minutes later:
…Execution of “\\<FQDN_MANAGEMENT_POINT>\D$\SMS\bin\x64\rolesetup.exe /install /siteserver:<SITE_SERVER_FQDN>” on server failed: Child process “”\\<FQDN_MANAGEMENT_POINT>\D$\SMS\bin\x64\rolesetup.exe” took too long to execute, and the process (PID = 1275) was orphaned.
