Why do the Logs tell me to look in “HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SMS” when this doesn’t exist?

I am trying to troubleshoot a problem and the ConfigMgr logs are telling me to look at settings in the following Registry key:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SMS

But when I go there this doesn’t exist.
