Why does my Content report a Status of “Waiting for content” and a Status Type of “In Progress” when the content has in fact been distributed successfully?

Why does my Content report a Status of “Waiting for content” and a Status Type of “In Progress” when the content has in fact been distributed successfully?

I’ve created a Package on my ConfigMgr 2012 Service Pack 1 (SP1), Primary and distributed it to the Distribution Point (DP), on my Secondary Site.

I’ve validated the Package on the Secondary’s DP after the content status reads Success which it does even after the content validation has completed.

I then right-click the Package and select Update distribution point.

However, if I then look on the Primary, the Console is incorrectly reporting a Status of Waiting for content and a Status Type of In Progress when the content has in fact been distributed successfully.
