“There is not enough available disk space on to complete this operation” error when trying to install Client Updates on Windows XP/ Windows Server 2003 Clients

“There is not enough available disk space on to complete this operation” error when trying to install Client Updates on Windows XP/ Windows Server 2003 Clients

I’ve managed to successfully install an update to my ConfigMgr 2012 Sites.

However, when I try to deploy the update to my Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 Clients it’s failing and I see the following in the Windows installer log:

CcmCheckFreeDiskSpace.MSI (s) (B8:A8) Product: Configuration Manager Client — There is not enough available disk space on to complete this operation. Installation requires at least 90MB free disk space.

I’ve checked and the drive has ample free space so I don’t understand why this is failing.
