Why does my Deployment Package not reach the targeted Distribution Point/ Distribution Point Group?

I’ve created a Software Update Group containing several updates in ConfigMgr 2012 which I’ve deployed.

I’ve created a new Software Update Package and then selected the relevant Distribution Point (DP)/ DP Group in the Distribute Content wizard.

After exiting the wizard I monitor the download progress for the specified updates.

However, I’ve noticed that the Software Update Package is not targeted to the DP/ DP Group.

The same thing happens if I update an existing Software Update Package.
