As part of this month’s Patch Tuesday Microsoft has released a security bulletin that affects ConfigMgr 2007 SP2 and SMS 2003 SP3. Just to clarify some items:

  • This update needs to be applied on all Site Servers (Primaries and Secondaries) but not Clients, BDPs or machines running the Administrator Console.
  • ConfigMgr 2012 is not affected by this.
  • The Security Bulletin states that ConfigMgr 2007 R2 and R3 are not affected when in fact they are because SP2 is affected which you need to have installed before you can install R2/R3 – Bottom line if you are running ConfigMgr 2007 SP2 regardless of whether you have R2 or R3 installed on top you still need to install this update.
