Why does it take longer to download an Operating System Image in ConfigMgr 2012 R2 than in previous versions of ConfigMgr 2012?

I’ve noticed that my ConfigMgr 2012 R2 Clients take longer to download an Operating System Images than in previous versions of ConfigMgr 2012.
