“System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException” and “Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation” errors when Task Sequence accessed/ changed

I’ve installed Cumulative Update 3 (CU3) for ConfigMgr 2012 Service Pack 1 (SP1).

However, since then every time I try to access or change a Task Sequence containing Windows 8.1 as a condition on the Options tab I get the following:

System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException
Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation
