“PXE-E78: Could not locate boot server” and “PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel PXE ROM. OS not found” errors when clients try to obtain a Boot Image from the WDS Server
I’ve installed the Windows Deployment Services (WDS), server role on a computer running Windows Server 2008 R2.
I’ve configured a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), server to use DHCP option code 43 that is required for Microsoft vendor-specific options and verified WDS clients can connect to the WDS server.
However, WDS clients can’t obtain a Boot Image from the WDS server and I see the following error messages:
PXE-E78: Could not locate boot server.
PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel PXE ROM. OS not found.
