How do I change the Web Reports default URL name?

I've run through a Web Report installation, accepting everything at default values. How do I go back and change something? I specifically want to get a more meaningful 'name' for the IIS root folder (defaults to 'http://<server_Name>/sitedb_sms'). Must I remove and reinstall? I like the idea of the convention used in the release notes under 'Installable Configurations' (../SMSReportingXYZ).

You should be able to just rename it in the IIS MMC Console which is an MMC snap-in. You'll need to at least install the Personal Web Server (PWS) on your computer to get the complete file set for the snap-in.

Depending on which version of IIS you have will determine where you install the MMC snap-in from:

  • If its IIS 4.x, install it from the NT Option Pack.
  • If its IIS 5.0, and you have a Windows 2000 Professional workstation, just pop the Windows 2000 Server CD in your drive and choose IIS 5.0 as an add-on component. PWS is installed automatically, as well as the IIS snap-in.
