The tool cannot be run using the current user, because the current user does not have the ‘Full Administrator’ RBAC role – SCCM TP1701

I am trying to run the new ContentLibraryCleanup tool in ConfigMgr Technical Preview 1701 but when I do get the following message:

The tool cannot be run using the current user, because the current user does not have the ‘Full Administrator’ RBAC role

The account I am using does have admin rights so why doesn’t it work?

RESOLUTION

This is a known issue in the Technical Preview 1701 version of this tool which does not recognise full administrator security groups, only users who are explicitly a ConfigMgr Full Administrator. The workaround to this issue (which is fixed in the next release), is to add any users that need to run the tool as a Full Administrator in the ConfigMgr Console.
