Why has the Endpoint Protection Client not been uninstalled despite me setting “Install Endpoint Protection client on client computers” to “No”?

I want to uninstall the Endpoint Protection Client on my computers. I’ve been into Client Settings and on the Endpoint Protection tab I’ve set Install Endpoint Protection client on client computers to No.

However, the Endpoint Protection Client hasn’t been removed.

PROBLEM:

“This installer is intended for use with OS X versions : 10.6 – 10.10!” when trying to install Endpoint Protection on a Mac

I am trying to install Endpoint Protection on one of my Macs but when I run the installer I get a Install System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection dialog box stating:

This installer is intended for use with OS X versions : 10.6 – 10.10!

Click continue to ignore this warning and continue with installation or click Finish to cancel installation of ‘System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection’.

Why can’t I initiate a Malware Scan on a SP1 Client?

I am trying to initiate a Malware Scan on a Service Pack 1 (SP1), Client but I don’t see the option to do so.

I’ve configured the Endpoint Protection Client setting Automatically remove previously installed antimalware software before Endpoint Protection is installed

However, I’ve noticed that Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition version 10 and Symantec Endpoint Protection version 11 are not automatically uninstalled on 64-bit computers.

In my environment I am using System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection to manage my Definition Updates and therefore users don’t have access to Windows Update.

Everything is configured and working (my Definition Updates are downloaded fine.

The issue I have though is on new Clients when I click the Update button in the Endpoint Protection (EP), UI the search for updates eventually times out and I get the following error:

0x8024402c – System Center Endpoint Protection couldn’t install the definition updates because the proxy server or target server names can’t be resolved

Looking in the C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log shows that the EP Client is attempting to access the Microsoft Update Website when in shouldn’t.

Why can’t I open the IronKey Control Panel after installing Endpoint Protection for Mac?

I’ve noticed that when I drilldown into the Antimalware activity report the Total Remediations column in the Antimalware Activity section is showing the wrong number of computers.
