MDT 2010 – Programs don’t run for new Machine Model added to MDT Database

PROBLEM:

I’ve added a new machine model to my Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) database. The machine has built successfully but it hasn’t run any of the machine specific Programs I defined for it (if I look in execmgr.log there is no trace of the Programs)

MDT 2010 – ‘Error writing to file C:\Program Files\Microsoft Deployment Toolkit\Templates\Distribution\Scripts\Autorun.inf.’

I am trying to install the MDT 2010 Toolkit but on the “Installing Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2010” screen I get the error:

‘Error writing to file C:\Program Files\Microsoft Deployment Toolkit\Templates\Distribution\Scripts\Autorun.inf. Verify that you have access to that directory.‘

Why does MDT skip a ConfigMgr / SCCM 2007 Application when the Task Sequence runs?

One of my applications defined in my MDT Database refuses to install when the Task Sequence runs. I’ve checked the Package ID and Program are set correctly in the MDT database and match those in ConfigMgr / SCCM 2007.

However, when I build a machine the application doesn’t install. If I look in the “C:\WINDOWS\System32\CCM\Logs\BDD.log” I can see the relevant line for the Package in the form “Property PACKAGESxxx is now = ”. I also see the correct entry appearing in the “smsts.log”.

However, when I look in “execmgr.log” I don’t see the Policy arriving for the application despite the Policies arriving for applications either side of the problem app.

I’ve loaded the Deployment Workbench but can’t find anyway of telling which Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) database I’m connected to. How do I find out?
