I'm fairly new to the SMS software and am having a few problems with 2003. When checking the site status, I have an error with the SMS_SITE_COMPONENT_MANAGER. Here's the error that I am getting:

Systems Management Server cannot create the object "cn=SMS-MP-WAU-WAUNMS" in Active Directory.

Basically, I can't create any object in my domain. I am a Domain admin so I should have rights, right?

There are a couple of things you need to do...

1. Make sure SMS has fully extended the schema. Remember that you have to enable Schema Updates.
    
2. Assign your SMS Site Server as a Domain Admin. That is, put the COMPUTER'S ACCOUNT in your Domain Admins group.

This should allow SMS to properly extend and modify the Schema, which is what I think is going on here (I had the same problem)
