"Destination access account information must be specified” dialog box when trying to create Standard Sender

I am trying to create a Standard Sender Address between two Sites. However, after selecting the target Site from the “Destination site code:” dropdown list and specifying the name of the target server in the “Site server name” field I get a dialog box stating:

“Destination access account information must be specified.”

I am using Advanced Security so why do I need to specify an account?

Double-check the Site where you are creating the Address is definetly running in Advanced security:

  1. Right-click on the Site Server object in the hierarchy and select “Properties” from the context menu.
  2. Make sure the “Security mode” is showing as “Advanced” on the “General” tab of the “<site_code> - <site_description> Properties” screen. If it is showing as “Standard” (as it was in this case), that is the issue – you have to specify an account when creating an Address for a Sender in Standard Security mode.

If the Site server was mistakenly installed in Standard Security mode you DON’T need to re-install it in Advanced security mode. Instead you can click the “Set Security…” button on the on the “General” tab of the “<site_code> - <site_description> Properties” screen then run through the wizard to convert the Site to Advanced Security mode. Once the Site has been converted (and the “Security mode” is showing as “Advanced” on the “General” tab of the “<site_code> - <site_description> Properties” screen), you should be able to create the Standard Sender Address without specifying an account.

NOTE: Ensure that it was a genuine error that the Site with the problem was installed in Standard Security mode as the conversion between Standard to Advanced security is one way and CANNOT be undone.
