"Advertisement <Advertisement> from <Site> was rejected because the client's platform is not supported"

Why am I seeing the following error message on my Vista SP1 Clients when using OSD even though I've checked the "This program can run only on specified client platforms" box in the Package's Properties which states it supports "All x86 Vista" and "All x64 Vista" platforms:

"Advertisement <Advertisement> from <Site> was rejected because the client's platform is not supported"

I'm running SMS 2003 SP3 which is supposed to support Vista?

First off SMS 2003 SP3 provides full support for Vista RTM NOT Vista SP1 and this is the reason for you seeing the error.

To resolve this issue you'll need to install a hotfix as detailed in KB Article 939332 "SMS 2003 with Service Pack 3 cannot deploy a package to client computers that are running Windows Vista with Service Pack 1"
