Uninstalling the Client Doesn’t Remove it from the SMS Database

I'm having trouble uninstalling the SMS 2003 Advanced Client. Even though I uninstall it with ccmclean the client machine remains as installed in SMS console.

The only way I can seem to get things to work is to delete the client from the SMS database and re-running AD Discovery to get it to show as being uninstalled.

CCMclean does not make any report of the uninstall to the SMS database. It just removes it from the machine.

No matter what uninstall method you use, we never automatically delete the client from the SMS site database just because the client was de-installed.
It is still a corporate asset that you want to track, even if the SMS agent has been uninstalled. It can be manually deleted from the database, or we'll delete it automatically if it remains un-refreshed in 90 days (default value).
