Legacy Client showing Assigned but not as a Client

Goto the SMS 2003 Home Page
 
When using 'Smsman.exe /m [CAP PATH]' to install a client, it shows up in the 'All Systems' collection as 'Assigned=Yes', but 'Client=No'. Site Code and Client Type are blank. Remote Tools are installed and useable on the client. Why doesn't it show up as a client?

That would indicate it has not been able to send its Heartbeat DDR to the CAP. I'd check the ccim32.log on the client to see if it does access the CAP fine.

I’ve also seen this problem where the client hadn’t sent back it’s first Hardware Inventory. As soon it had completed the first hardware inventory it showed up fine.
