After pushing out the Advanced
Client to my XP machines I have some computers that SMS Reports that the Client
isn't installed.
If I look on the actual machines the SMS Client is installed but the "Currently
Assigned to Site Code:" property on the Advanced tab is BLANK.
If I use the "Discover" option it assigns the Client to the correct Site but I
don't understand why the Client isn't assigned automatically?

The client could fall into this state due one of the following:
- If the client push
properties (or on the ccmsetup command line), the SMSSITECODE property is
not specified OR if the SMSSITECODE is set to AUTO and the client is unable
to get the site assignment. This could be due the following.
- If you are using AD for
site assignment (AD schema extended), then the MP or site objects may not be
published. Or the client may not fall within any site boundaries. Please
look into the ClientLocation.log and LocationServices.log
- If you installed the
client without the SMSSITECODE property set, then you will have to manually
assign the site or re-install the client with the SMSSITECODE property set.
