As detailed in the "ITMU updated for SMS 2003 SP2" article, SMS 2003 SP2 includes a new version of the Inventory Tool for Microsoft Updates (ITMU) which includes 64-bit support, several hotfixes and new features. This updated version is NOT installed automatically.

To install the SMS 2003 SP2 version of ITMU you can either*:

• Select the "Inventory Tool for Microsoft Updates" option from the main Setup screen.
   
• Run "SMSITMU.msi" from the "ScanTools" directory.

* Applies regardless of whether you are using the SMS 2003 SP2 download or installing from an SMS 2003 SP2 CD.

Installing the SP2 version of ITMU does not require any other updates be made to the SMS environment.
