I currently have an NT 4.0 Box
with SMS 2.0 that crashed unrecoverably yesterday. I was planning on upgrading
this server to Windows and SMS 2003 soon anyway, so I am wondering what steps
need to take place to scrap the original and upgrade without rebuilding the NT
4.0 box.
Is there any problems that I will have with my existing clients if I upgrade the
server to 2003? I do have the DB on tape, so I can restore the database if
necessary.Contributed By:

You can't run an SMS 2003 Site Server or any of it's components on NT 4.0 so
you'll need to upgrade the OS to Windows 2000 SP3 at a minimum. So even if
you want to install something like a Management Point or a Distribution Point
the server on which you want to install the component needs to be running
Windows 2000 SP3 or later.
