The Legacy Client is NOT supported on a 64-bit OS.
There are some important things to note though:
-
The Advanced Client will run in 32-bit mode on these
platforms - there is no native 64-bit SMS 2003 Client
-
SMS 2003 SP3 adds a new class "Add Remove Programs (64)"
which allows Software Inventory to collect information relating to 64-bit
apps running on 64-bit computers
-
The Inventory Tool for Microsoft Updates (ITMU) shipped
with SMS 2003 SP3 can be used for detection and deployment of Microsoft
security updates for 64-bit operating systems.
-
The 64-bit Advanced Client is installed in the "<systemroot>\windows\syswow64\ccm"
directory
