I'm planning to deploy SMS 2 within my
company (1,500 users ). I have done all of my testing in the lab with all
components installed on Win2K servers. All servers are member servers in an NT4
domain with no advanced functions such as AD, DNS, WINS.
The lab was successful and everything
works fine. But now, I have to prove that Win2K server is a good choice instead
of NT4. Does anyone have any experiences (good or bad), with implementing SMS 2
on Win2K servers in an NT4 domain?

- Win2K servers have better 'up-time'. You rarely
have to reboot a Win2K server. The thing just flat-out runs.
Windows NT 4.x servers, you need to plan on bouncing them at least every 45
days.
- Win2K servers provide better connectivity and better
transmission throughput.
- Putting SMS on a Win2K server now, will ease the burden
of converting later when the current domain is migrated.
