Does anyone know what .CXX files are? I also see .CMN which are Collection membership update files. I can't find any reference to these in the Resource Kit.

They are originally CMN files, then they fail, and then they get tried again on the next update. (If it is a bad Collection, then this loops until corrected). It seems that Microsoft use this same .CXX name in most of the SMS components and basically they mean failed and that it needs to try again on next scan or update when the threads kick off again.

Microsoft doesn't seem to know what they are. My guess was that they were corrupt Collection files when the Offer Manager or Collection Evaluator cycled through them. I had a bad Collection that screwed up down level sites. Once I removed it and allowed the site to churn through the many .INS files in the Receive box (by renaming OFFERMGR.DLL because the SMS Executive kept crashing on it) I renamed OFFERMGR.DLL back and it all worked fine.
