upgrading to SMS SP5 I’ve noticed that Remote Control events are no longer
being written to the Security Log. Did the upgrade break something? Contributed By:

No. As detailed on
the
SP5
README_OPERATIONS file, because of a changes in XP Security SMS now logs all
Events relating to Remote Control in the Application Log and not the
Security log as it used to. Here’s the extract from the README_OPERATIONS
file:
"Due to security
changes implemented in Windows XP, the SMS Remote Control agent is no
longer allowed to register remote control events in the Windows NT
Security Event Log. Due to this new security restriction, the Remote
Control agent for SMS 2.0 SP5 or later will now log Windows NT events to
the Windows NT Application Event Log instead of the Windows NT Security
Event Log."
