| I want to set
up a second Primary site within 1 domain. The current site is SMS2.0 with
SP2 and the new site will be SMS 2.0 with SP4. Because the 2 sites share the
same domain controllers I’m wondering what will happen with the clients on
the old site. Will they be upgraded with the latest Service Pack or are the
Logon Points not upgraded?

Two Sites which share Logon Points all must be at the same version of SMS
(i.e. SP4), otherwise you’ll run into client component mismatches, which
will leave your clients pretty much useless until their SMS Site is upgraded
and the new component versions reach the clients.
So you will have to upgrade your SP2 site to SP4, or leave your new Site at
SP2.
This behaviour changes with the following Post SP4 Hotfix, as detailed in
Microsoft Knowledge Base Article
