SMS Control Panel Applet Empty on Windows 2000 Machines

I just re-installed SMS 2.0 SP4 on our Servers. We got hit with the Klez virus and messed SMS all up. I un-installed the client from all workstations before I re-installed on the servers. Now I want to start installing on clients again. On Windows 9.x Clients, it works fine, as well as my XP Pro box it works fine. But on the Windows 2000 Professional machines, the client seems to install correctly, i.e., no errors that I can see. But when you go into the SMS Application in Control Panel, under the Site tab it is blank and under the Components it will either be blank or list some of them, but none saying they are installed.

I tried rebooting, re-installing again, completely removing client then re-installing.

P.S. Our Windows 2000 machines use a Local Group Policy on the workstations so that users can't mess around with Control Panel. We're still on an NT 4.0 domain so use the local policy.

Does your local security policies also stop the SMS account from creating the necessary registry keys for the client installation?

I finally found the problem. It wasn't the security policies at all. We had disabled the workstation and server services which I guess SMS needs to be able to install.
