| My clients
are taking far longer than usual to login, keep locking up , etc. Looking at
the Clicore.Log the client is showing as re-installing itself. Isn't SMS
meant to just check the client and not re-install it? This is a known bug in SP1 that is fixed in SP2. Every 30 days the client is
meant to check that it is installed correctly. If it is, then the process is
meant to end. However, in SP1, regardless of the state of the client, every 30
days or so the client will do the check and re-install itself regardless of it's
state. If all your clients were installed around the same time, then they will
all potentially try to re-install at the same time thus saturating the network.
If you are running SP1, all you can do for now is to run
the CliVerify utility on each Primary and disable 'Periodically verify
client installation'. TechNet articles

'SMS: Client Components
Reinstalled During Periodic Verification' and

Configure the Client Verify Cycle' provide more details.
