This problem can have several causes:

  • If you are using quota management lift the quotas to see if this resolves the problem (although volumes appear to have plenty of space, quotas can prevent any new data from making it's way to the server)

  • If you are using Norton, for some reason it locks the service account database and causes the install to fail due to the inability to install a new service. Check the machine - try to go into 'Control Panel | Services' and see if you can Start/Stop anything. I got the error of 'Service account database is locked.' I had to manually (through the Registry), disable Norton and then restart the machine.

  • Check the Server service is started on the client.
