Tlist.exe Hogging 100% of the CPU on Site Server

We have a relatively new installation of SMS 2.0 SP 4.0 on a Windows 2000 SP2 Server. For the second time this month the machine has been responding quite slowly, and the reason for this is that tlist.exe, running as the SMSService account, is taking up all the CPU resources.

If tlist.exe is the same tlist as in the resource kit utility, then the only reason I can think of that it would run would be SMS Service Manager gathering information. But why does this not die when the admin console is closed?

Has anyone come across this before, or have a solution? I've searched the newsgroups and scanned through the books, but can't even find a reference to SMS using tlist.
