Although you may be able to get other SMS users to send you SMS Hotfixes this is not recommended for the simple reason that in order for Microsoft to support an SMS implementation any Hotfixes need to be obtained from them.

This allows Microsoft to make the decision on what Hotfix(s) you need and what impact this could have on your SMS installation.

Don’t worry about there being a charge – if you genuinely need a Hotfix the call to PSS and the Hotfix will be free of charge.
