I’m attempting to create new Stand-Alone Media but it appears to have hung. Is there a log file I can check to see what is happening?

Yes you need to look in the CreateTsMedia.log which details all of the steps taken to create the media.

Now before you go diving off to find this you need to understand this log file is generated and kept on the computer from where you initiated the “Create Task Sequence Media” action.  So if you’re running the Admin Console from a workstation and not the Site Server the log is kept on that workstation.

The Microsoft documentation states the log is kept in the “<ConfigMgrInstallationPath>\%temp%” directory.

However, when I checked on my Site Server (as that’s where I’m running the console from), the log was actually in the “<drive>:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\AdminUI\AdminUILog” directory (don't worry I've made them aware of this and am awaiting their response).
