What’s New for App-V in SCCM 2012?

With the release of SCCM 2012, Microsoft has introduced many new features and made many changes in regards to App-V as detailed in the list below:

  • Virtual Applications support App-V Dynamic Suite Composition – In SCCM 2012 Virtual Applications support App-V Dynamic Suite Composition by using ConfigMgr local and virtual application dependencies.
  • Selective Publishing of Virtual Application Components – Components of a virtual application can be selectively published to ConfigMgr Client computers.
  • Performance Improvements when Publishing Application Shortcuts to Clients – In ConfigMgr 2012 performance improvements have been made when publishing application shortcuts to Client computers.
  • Faster checking for Required Installation after Logon and when the Desktop is Unlocked – ConfigMgr 2012 Clients will now check much faster for any Required installations after logon as well as when the desktop is unlocked.
